Overview

License Plate Recognition, Around the Clock

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) — license plate recognition — uses specialized cameras and optical character recognition to identify vehicles the moment they reach a gate, lane or checkpoint. Zamtech designs, supplies and installs ANPR systems in Saudi Arabia for parking operators, facility managers and security teams that need fast, hands-free vehicle identification.

Our cameras read plates from more than 120 countries — including Saudi Arabia and all GCC states — at vehicle speeds up to 320 km/h, with a read time under one second and 98% or higher accuracy, in daylight, darkness and all weather. Every read can open a barrier, log an entry or trigger a watchlist alert, and the system also detects each vehicle’s color, type and brand.

ANPR camera reading a car at a barrier and showing its vehicle type, plate, brand and color
Cameras like this one watch every lane continuously, reading plates from more than 120 countries at speeds up to 320 km/h with 98% or higher accuracy. Zamtech's ANPR systems in Saudi Arabia log each vehicle's color, type and brand alongside the plate, feeding parking operators, toll systems and security teams from the same platform.

Dual-Camera Capture

Front Plate First, Control Room as Backup

Each lane runs two ANPR cameras. The front camera reads the plate as the car arrives. If that read fails — a dirty, damaged or missing plate — the system raises an alarm on the parking control dashboard with both the front and rear images, and control-room staff enter the plate manually. The lane keeps moving and every decision is logged.

How Deployment Works

From Site Survey to Handover

Every ANPR deployment in Saudi Arabia follows the same four-step process.

01
Site survey & design

We run a camera positioning study of your site: lane geometry, approach speeds, angles and lighting are analyzed so each camera reads plates at 98% accuracy or higher, day and night.

02
Supply & installation

ANPR cameras are supplied from our international partner brands and installed to cover single or multiple lanes at once, with remote camera control and clear imaging even at night.

03
Integration & testing

The system is connected to your barriers, parking or access control platform and third-party software, then tested against Saudi, GCC and international plates — with read times under one second.

04
Handover & maintenance

We train your team on the management software, alerts and reporting, with ongoing maintenance keeping the cameras calibrated through Saudi Arabia's dust and heat.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ANPR and how does it work?

ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) uses cameras with optical character recognition to read vehicle license plates automatically as vehicles pass. Each plate read is matched in under a second and can open a barrier, log an entry or trigger an alert — with no tickets, tags or manual checks.

Can the system read Saudi and GCC license plates?

Yes. Our ANPR systems read plates from more than 120 countries, including Saudi Arabia and all GCC states, with 98% or higher accuracy — and they also detect the vehicle’s color, type and brand.

Does ANPR work at night and in bad weather?

Yes. The cameras operate 24/7 in all weather conditions and capture clear plate images even at night, so entrances stay secured around the clock.

Can ANPR integrate with our existing parking or access control system?

Yes. The system connects to third-party software and standard platforms, and Zamtech can integrate it with gate barriers, parking management and parking guidance as one solution. Share your current setup and we will confirm compatibility.

Can one ANPR system cover several lanes at once?

Yes. The cameras cover multiple lanes at once and read each plate in under one second, also detecting the vehicle's color, type and brand. The system connects easily to other platforms and third-party software — contact our team to design the lane layout for your site.
